Twice the speed of life.

The last time I posted I was 36 weeks pregnant and anxiously anticipating the arrival of my daughter! I had a huge belly, swollen ankles, and unbearable heartburn…now Lexie is almost 7 months old and well on her way to crawling. Its amazing how much she learned and changed in these past few months. I could not be more thankful that she is finally growing, gaining weight, and really starting to show her personality. I will never take for granted a healthy child again, our experience with Lexie has made me a stronger person, and a better mom!

I am still in school, working towards a goal of graduating with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing. My plan is to work in Labor and Delivery for a while, and eventually get my Midwifes License and deliver babies! I could not be more thrilled about what the future holds for me, and my career. It definitely is hard to read about muscles and  bones in the body, when you have a cute smiley girl crawling around on the floor. But I’m beating the odds, and proving everyone wrong that told me I cant have a baby and finish school. Summer classes start June 7th, and I will be taking Biology and Statics, and Composition. I am looking forward to fall semester with a classes that are in my major.

Ethan has started a new job, that he is very excited about. He is still in landscaping, but with a new company, higher pay, and more security.

We will be moving into a 3 bedroom townhome in a couple of weeks, and are very excited to finally have a home that we can paint and make our own. We plan on living there for the next few years until we can afford to rent a house. We picked out all the paint colors already- which I chose based on a shower curtain from Target! :) We have a very private back yard, with a big pine tree, and lots of shade. Im looking forward to having a front yard that I can decorate for the holidays.

At the end of June, Ethan and I will be taking our first (and last) camping trip of the season. We are taking the beautiful Madeline (Ethan’s sister) to Lake McConaughy  to celebrate her 16th birthday! Its a huge lake in Nebraska with 100 miles of shoreline and white sand beaches.  Its the closest thing we’ve got to a beach within driving distance. Later in the summer, Lexie and I will be taking a trip to Vancouver, BC for a week! Its the first time Lexie will be able to use her Passport.

That updates everyone (if anyone actually reads this) on whats going on in our lives. I hope to post pictures on the blog at least once a week of our family, trips, or random images.

October.

October is here, the air is crisp, and leaves are falling. October is my favorite month, primarily because Halloween is so much fun. But November this year will defnitly beat out October, as we get closer and closer to the due date.
